Getting to Fredericton

The conference is located at the Wu Conference Centre on the University of New Brunswick’s Fredericton Campus, 6 Duffie Drive, Fredericton. As Fredericton is the capital of New Brunswick, it is easily accessible by air, bus or car.

Air

Fredericton is served by Air Canada. Visit the Fredericton Airport website for details. There are Air Canada direct flights from Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Halifax.

The Fredericton Airport is located approximately 8 miles from the city centre - a 15-20 minute drive. The official taxi supplier to Fredericton Airport is Trius Taxi of Fredericton. Persons with disabilities who would like to make specific arrangements with Trius should call 506-454-4444 at least 72 hours before arriving.

Another option is to fly into the Moncton International Airport, which is a 2 hour drive from Fredericton. Air Canada, West Jet, and Continental offer flights to Moncton.

* Early booking of airline flights is advisable since there are a limited number of seats into and out of Fredericton and there are other conferences scheduled in Fredericton during the same time period.

Bus

Acadian Lines offers service from 78 destinations throughout the Maritimes, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Car

From Moncton or Saint John:
Take Exit 294 and follow the road into Fredericton past the Industrial Park. Turn right at the set of lights on Prospect Street (Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital is on the right). Drive to the intersection of Regent Street and Montgomery Street. Turn right onto Montgomery Street and then left into the upper gates of the UNB Campus. The Wu Centre is the first building on your right.
From the United States:
Fredericton is an easy 3 hour drive from Bangor, Maine. You can cross the border at Houlton/Woodstock (122kms/76 miles) from Fredericton, or St. Stephen (115 kms/71 miles) from Fredericton.

Crown Plaza Hotel (Beaverbrook)

The Canadian Learning Commons Conference has reserved a block of 120 guest rooms at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Fredericton. The Crown Plaza is located in downtown Fredericton overlooking the St. John River and adjacent to miles of walking trails. Please mention that you will be attending the Learning Commons Conference to obtain the preferred rate.

Please bear in mind that while Fredericton is a pretty city and a very pleasant to walk around, UNB Campus is built into a considerable hillside. Bring comfortable walking shoes!
