RefWorks
- What is RefWorks?
- Properly documenting and organizing references is a critical part of academic research and writing. RefWorks is a web-based bibliographic database manager that allows you to create a database of references that can be organized, searched, and used to automatically construct bibliographies and reading lists. Using RefWorks, you can:
-
- Import citations directly from many of the indexing and abstracting databases and electronic journals available at UNB Libraries;
- Automatically format a bibliography or reference list in any one of over 200 citation styles;
- Insert properly formatted references in your paper using Write-N-Cite for MS Word; please note that you must download either Write-N-Cite 3 for Windows or Write-N-Cite 4 for Macs.
- How can I get RefWorks?
- RefWorks is a web-based tool that you can access anytime, from any internet-connected computer on or off campus. To start using RefWorks, all you need to do is Login to RefWorks and create a personal account.
- Please note that, as with many of UNB Libraries' licensed resources, off-campus access requires login via our proxy server. See Off-Campus Access for more information.
- The RefWorks login can be bookmarked using http://refworks.lib.unb.ca/. This URL will automatically prompt off-campus users for a proxy login. Since UNB uses the Scholar's Portal server in Ontario, you can't access your account from RefWorks' own website.
- Who can get access to RefWorks?
- University of New Brunswick has a site-wide license to RefWorks. Students, faculty and staff of UNB and St. Thomas University can access RefWorks free of charge.
- How can I learn more about using RefWorks?
- There are plenty of resources available to help you learn more about using RefWorks, both online and in person at UNB Libraries. Check out Get Started with RefWorks in the sidebar.
