Classical guitarist Steven Peacock and bassoonist Yvonne Kershaw will provide background music during the dinner reception and a duet performance following the meal.
Steven Peacock
Classical guitarist Steven Peacock, based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, has performed in concert and recording engagements throughout Canada. Keenly interested in ensemble work, he has also worked extensively with flautists Sally Wright (“Cantilena: 20th-century Works for Flute and Guitar,” Blue Milo, 2001) and (in the United Kingdom) Jane Coulcher-Stoltenberg (“Encuentro,” 2000); sopranos Angela Birdsell, Wendy Nielsen and Paula Hébert (“Gaudete!,” 2003); and guitarist Gerry Van Wart, with whom he has released “Milonga” (2003) and “El Elegante: Dances for Two Guitars” (1997). Mr. Peacock currently teaches at the University of New Brunswick and adjudicated the 2003 National Festival of Music.
Yvonne Kershaw
Bassoonist Yvonne Kershaw, originally from Indiana, received a Bachelor’s of Music Education from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She received a Master’s of Bassoon Performance from Indiana University. Her teachers include James Hansen and Charles Rader of the Indianapolis Symphony and Sidney Rosenberg and Christopher Weait at Indiana University. After freelancing in Seattle, Washington, she moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Besides performing with Symphony New Brunswick and the New Brunswick Summer Music Festival, Ms. Kershaw teaches at the University of New Brunswick Centre for Musical Arts.
