GUIDELINES FOR CONTRIBUTORS
The Canadian Journal of Regional Science> invites submission, in English or French, of articles (3,000-5,000 words), research notes and comments (not exceeding 2,000 words), and book reviews concerned with regional and urban issues, especially those of relevance to Canada. Only original material, not previously published, will be considered. Manuscripts should be submitted to C. Bryant in care of the Department of Geography, University of Montreal, Montreal Quebec H3C 3J7.
Manuscripts should be typed double spaced, on one side of 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper, and submitted in triplicate. The author's name, affiliation, and full mailing address should appear on a separate title page.
Headings should be in upper and lower case. First-order headings are centred. Second-order headings begin at the left margin. Third-order headings begin at the left margin and are underlined.
References, in parentheses, should consist of the author's last name and the year of publication, with page number included where appropriate (Martin 1983: 50-53). Reference lists should be arranged in alphabetical order, with the date following immediately after authors' names. Persons submitting papers are requested to limit the number of references to one per 300 words of text.
Footnotes, restricted to explanation or provision of further information, should be numbered consecutively. The number of footnotes should be limited to one per 1,000 words of text.
Abstracts in both English and French of about 100 words must accompany articles.
Illustrations should be clear and legible but need not be prepared for reproduction before acceptance of article, when originals or high-quality photographic reproductions will be required. Dimensions of figures, including titles, should not exceed 11 x 6 inches.
RECOMMANDATIONS AUX AUTEURS
La Revue canadienne des sciences régionales publie, en français ou en anglais, des articles (3000-5000 mots), des notes de recherche et des commentaires (2000 mots maximum) ainsi que des comptes rendus de lecture. Les textes proposés à la Rédaction doivent être inédits et porter sur des questions régionales et urbaines (les travaux consacrés aux régions canadiennes, notamment, sont les bienvenus). Faire parvenir les manuscrits au Directeur (C. Bryant) à le Département de géographie, Université de Montréal, Montréal, Montréal Québec H3C 3J7.
Les manuscrits seront dactylographiés en trois exemplaires, à double interligne, avec marges, recto seulement, sur papier standard (8 1/2 x 11 pouces). Sur une page distincte, l'auteur indiquera son nom ainsi que l'adresse postale complète de l'institution ou organisation à laquelle il appartient.
Les titres et sous-titres seront en minuscules (exception faite des majuscules exigées par l'orthographe d'usage). Centrer le grand titre et les sous-titres principaux; aligner les seconds sous-titres à gauche; aligner à gauche et souligner les troisièmes sous-titres.
Les références bibliographiques seront intégrées au texte. Indiquer aux endroits appropriés, entre parenthèses, le nom de famille du ou des auteur(e)s (suivi de «et autres» s'il y a lieu), l'année de publication et, au besoin, le(s) numéro(s) de page. Ex. : (Martin, 1983, 23-24). La bibliographie, classée par ordre alphabétique (la date faisant suite au nom de l'auteur), sera placée à la fin du texte. On est prié de s'en tenir, autant que possible, à une notice bibliographique par 300 mots.
Les notes infrapaginales, en nombre limité (une pour 1000 mots), sont réservées aux précisions indispensables. Prière de les numéroter de façon continue.
Deux résumés d'environ 100 mots, l'un en français, l'autre en anglais, doivent accompagner chaque article. Veiller à traduire aussi le titre, pour fins de répertoriage.
Les illustrations soumises avec les manuscrits peuvent être de simples photocopies lisibles. Pour la publication, cependant, l'auteur fournira des originaux ou des reproductions photographiques de bonne qualité (dimensions maximales : 6 x 11 pouces).
