Series E - Publicity, Promotion, and Critical Reception
Publicity, promotion and critical reception. -- 1972-1978, 1980-1994, 1996. 40.64 cm. (4 boxes).
Series E comprises bibliographies, essays, newspaper and journal articles and critical reviews of Richards' literary works. Box 30, file 2 contains a scrapbook of newspaper clippings and letters from Richards' early career in the 1970s. Also included in this series are typescripts of three Masters of Arts theses written on David Adams Richards, and posters, publishers' catalogues, and other publicity for public readings given by Richards.
Files are organized in chronological order, and the file titles are based on file contents. Many of the newspaper clippings do not contain the source or date information. Photocopies of most articles, particularly newspaper clippings, were made to preserve the material.
A copy of Ingeborg Sterrer-Hauzenberger's thesis," 'Oigoa Sepoitit - You Are Beautiful' Narrative Technique and Major Themes in Two Novels by David Adams Richards: Lives of Short Duration and Road to the Stilt House" (University of Wien, 1989), is housed in the collections of the University of New Brunswick Archives and Special Collections Department.
