Lending Policies

Repositories do not usually lend their only copy of a microfilm reel on interlibrary loan. Since the Loyalist Collection does not have multiple copies of most reels, interlibrary loans are, normally, not permitted.

When Inventory entries indicate that the original records are held by the National Archives of Canada, the Archives of Ontario, or the New Brunswick Provincial Archives, researchers should inquire through their local library about the availability of microfilm on interlibrary loan. Many of the larger repositories have duplicate copies of selected reels.
