Note to users: values for suppressed variables on the file will have a code of not stated (i.e. 9 for 1 byte field, 99 for 2 byte field, 999 for 3 byte field etc.)

Changes made to the cycle 2 NLSCY public use file.

The following variables have been regrouped into two categories:

· BDMCD08: 01=siblings 02=no siblings
· BDMCD09: 01=older siblings 02=no older siblings
· BDMCD10: 01=younger siblings 02=no younger siblings

STEPS TO OBTAIN DATA FILES:

Links to electronic versions of documentation and SPSS or SAS command files are provided where they exist.

1. Click on the file you require to download the datafile to your hard drive. This will take you to the Statistics Canada DLI license under which the files are provided to UNB Libraries. After entering your email account, an authorization screen will appear.

2. You must enter your PIN number and your email address to obtain the file. Only authorized users may download files from this site.
