SCHOOL LEAVERS SURVEY

The primary objective of the survey was to establish a leaver rate for Canada and the provinces and to investigate factors associated with school leaving. The 1991 sample population was 9460 youths aged 18-20. A follow-up survey was conducted in 1995.

The following files are available for use within the constraints of the DLI license to UNB Libraries users. Knowledge of a statistical package, such as SPSS or SAS, or a GIS package in the case of the geographic files, is usually a prerequisite for using these files.

Codebooks, which provide documentation on the surveys and information on the variables in the datafile, are available for datafiles indicated. Print versions of codebooks may be consulted in the Government Documents, Data and Maps Department on the third floor of the Harriet Irving Library.
