SURVEY ON LABOUR AND INCOME DYNAMICS
SLID is a longitudinal survey which began in 1994 and follows individuals and families for six years, collecting information on their labour market experiences, income and family circumstances. The longitudinal nature of this survey as well as the extensive data content offer a broad potential for analysis of issues related to changes in the labour market and income levels over time. Note that only the public use microdata are available for downloading.
The target population consisted of all persons living in the ten provinces in Canada excluding residents of institutions, Indian reserves and military barracks. The sample size consisted of 40,000 households. The codebook is available in electronic and in print formats.
