ICPSR Study 7410Canadian National Election Study, 1972
The following files are available for use within the constraints of the ICPSR consortium license to UNB Libraries authorized users. ABSTRACT Three studies are included in this set of national Canadian election surveys of 1972. All three were conducted by Market Opinion Research by telephone, two were administered prior to the national election, and one following the October 31st election date. The first study, conducted between June and July 1972, focused on the respondents' opinions of the political parties, and of issues and personalities in Federal politics.The second study was conducted in September 1972 and assessed the respondents' opinions on political issues such as unemployment, Canadian/United States relations, environment, taxes, price controls, and certain federal programs.The third study in this series was administered in early November. The respondents were asked to evaluate the federal election campaign, the candidates, parties, and political issues. FILES AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOADING Documentation

Steps to Obtain Data Files Electronically:Links to electronic versions of documentation and SPSS or SAS command files are provided where they exist. 1. Click on the file you require to download the datafile to your hard drive. This will take you to the Statistics Canada DLI license under which the files are provided to UNB Libraries. After entering your email account, an authorization screen will appear. 2. You must enter your PIN number and your email address to obtain the file. You must be an authorized user to download these files.
