Biographical Sketch: Thomas Foulkes, a Campbellton native, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from U.N.B in 1926. A Beaverbrook scholar, Foulkes took an active role in student life. He was Vice-President of the Literary and Debating Society 1924-25, and was President of the same society in 1925-26. He was leader of the debating team in 1925 and 1926, the Senior Representative on the Students' Council, President of the Electrical Club, and Editor-in-Chief of The Brunswickan. Also during his time at U.N.B, Foulkes regularly attended sports events, dances, and church services, usually accompanied by his friend "Tom" (Marguerite),whom he later married.

Upon graduation, Foulkes moved to Peterborough ON, where he joined the Canadian Electric Co. In 1928 Foulkes entered the paper industry. He joined the E.B. Eddy Co.and was associated with this company for 45 years, serving successively as plant engineer, project engineer, and steam power engineer. He was appointed chief plant engineer in 1952, and after his retirement in 1969, Foulkes served the industry as a consultant. Foulkes died in Ottawa after a period of ailing health on May 15, 1989. He was 85.
