Scope and content: This series contains images depicting the construction of the Chignecto Ship Railway. It includes photographs of excavation work, roadbed work, bridge construction, the Amherst lifting dock, the Tidnish dock, work crews, machinery and equipment. It also includes drawings of ships being raised and transported by a ship railway as well as a photograph of a model ship on its cradle and cridiron.
