Services For Public

UNB Libraries’ first priority is to support the teaching and research programs at the University of New Brunswick. Our libraries also serve as a resource for members of the general public who come to our campuses to use materials in our libraries.

Borrowing Privileges:

Members of the general public can purchase an extramural library borrowing card at a nominal cost.

For details or to apply for community borrowing privileges, please contact:

Please note that a valid New Brunswick address is required to obtain a borrowing card.

On-campus access:

While in our libraries, designated computers are available for use by members of the general public. The UNB Libraries’ website offers access to our online catalogue and links to many of our collections and online research materials free of charge. Neither a University ID card or an community borrower card is required.

Off-campus access:

Members of the public unaffiliated with UNB can connect to our online catalogue your home or office.

The majority of UNB Libraries’ online resources (research databases, e-books, e-journals, e-newspapers) however are restricted by the terms of agreements with database vendors. Off-campus access to UNB’s restricted online resources is only available to UNB/STU students, faculty and staff.

Document Delivery Service:
